Michael Quinert graduated with a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Laws from Monash University in 1984 and 1985 respectively.

Prior to joining Oakley Thompson & Co in 1989, he spent time with Kearneys in Melbourne, as well as two years as a solicitor for the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) in Melbourne.

At the ASX, he reported to the Listing Committee on new floats, reconstructions, mergers, and listing rule interpretations and amendments. During this time, Michael developed significant experience and expertise in all matters relating to capital raisings, Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), back-door listings, mergers and acquisitions, buy backs, capital reconstructions and corporate governance.

It is these issues that predominate the advice that he now offers clients of Oakley Thompson & Co. In particular, Michael possesses specific expertise in assisting corporations to complete IPOs, and has assisted numerous groups across a range of industry sectors to successfully list on the ASX.
